Today is Earth Day, in the midst of a pandemic, I feel like hugging the planet very tightly. Honor everything that is beautiful and ugly about it and vibrate with to OM mantra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this anxiety ridden, stress based, fast paced world that places so many demands on almost every second of our precious days, upcycling <\/em>punctuates the perennial importance of slowing down time\u2026 to just reconnect with ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Throughout my career as a fashion designer, my drive and productivity were concrete proof of my initial goal-oriented approach to fashion. In those early years, however, my satisfaction from sewing became tied to the vision of the final product. And most of the time, I felt impatient about getting there, somehow unable to fully appreciate the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n M\u00eame si quelquefois il m\u2019arrive encore de me laisser happer par cette course, l\u2019upcyclage a apport\u00e9 un changement fondamental dans mon approche \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation. L\u2019upcyclage me ram\u00e8ne \u00e0 la m\u00e9ditation, \u00e0 l\u2019appr\u00e9ciation du processus, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9loge de la lenteur. La nature m\u00eame de l’upcyclage implique un d\u00e9vouement lent et laborieux. Alors, pourquoi me pr\u00e9cipiter? Autant mieux accepter et accueillir que \u00e7a prendra du temps.
