But what exactly is the grainline? It runs along the length of the fabric and is <strong>parallel to the selvage<\/strong>. No matter the fiber content, fabric will always be more flexible and stretchy in this direction. To respect this guideline, align the arrow parallel to the fabric\u2019s selvage.
