WHAT IS UPCYCLING?

Upcycling is an intelligent way of reusing old materials while lessening your carbon footprint. Consider it a ‘high-end’ version of recycling that occurs via artistic inspiration. For me, upcycling is all about removing the material from its original context and enabling a future use that upgrades its value.

Upcycling make me happy and feel good!

“Upcycling pays tribute to preloved materials.“

My most cherished example of upcycling is Kintsugi, an ancient Japanese art that consists of repairing broken porcelaine with gold. Once refurbished, the pottery piece is worth significantly more than the new, undamaged counterparts. The preloved jeans I work with are shown this same level of attention and respect.

I think of ‘flaws’ and ‘imperfections’ as synonyms for beauty. I believe that being damage should not mean the end of a life time but just a chapter of its story.

“My aim is to foster the grace that flows from reimagining.”
